3D Live Integration

This was a personal challenge to learn the 3D-to-compositing workflow using Maya and Nuke.

I modeled, textured, lit, and animated the CG element in Maya, then composited it into live action using Nuke. It was my first time working with both tools, and I also learned how to use a light probe and integration kit to better match lighting and reflections in the scene.

Getting Maya’s material editor to cooperate was another story. I couldn’t get the normal map or glossiness to behave properly with the egg’s surface and eventually settled on “good enough” just to finish the piece.

While the result isn’t perfect, the project gave me hands-on experience with technical VFX integration and a deeper appreciation for the challenges of blending 3D into live action.
